I posted this last year. But this is a brand new version with more updated information.
Since the first version was made in 2001, many people started to realize the huge problem of plastic pollution in the oceans. So, things must have been improved, right? Surprisingly, the answer is NO. The situation got a lot worse. I mean, "A Lot".
It would take only 10 minutes of your time to find out what is really going on.

Thank you for the info. Is sad the lack of care to our oceans. How do you really stop it though? There is so much disregard to everything around us and on this planet.
Thank you for your comment!
The scientists say it's too late to remove the garbage patches in the oceans. However, we could slowdown the enlargement speed by not buying/using new plastic items. I believe that educating people is the first step.
This is ridiculous the way people throw their garbage into the water and it is affecting the sea life.Well it is an ecosystem and all of us will get affected eventually if not already.
Unfortunately, it is already getting us. Many fish are eating plastic pieces, which absorb so many toxic chemicals in the water.
Those camicals have been proven to disrupt the endocrine system, the extremely sensitive set of glands and hormones that regulate functions such as insulin production, metabolism and sexual development (According to the Japanese researchers).
Unfortunately, it is affecting us.
Japanese researchers said that fish are eating plastic that absorb toxic chemicals in the water, which disrupt hormone.
