Wild animals must be kept wild to respect

People think those wild animals are friendly and easily tamed. They are cute and it's tempting to treat them like your dogs or cats. But they are wild. It's dangerous and they may have diseases. Thank Marine Animal Rescue to report this incidence and warn us this is very illegal, a violation of the Marine Mammal Protection Act.

This sickly confused sea lion pup was desperately seeking warmth. It didn't approach a human to be petted. Luckily, she kept her hands away from the pup and did not get bitten.
If you see injured or distressed wild animals, call Animal Control (or me to get the right number to call).

Plastic Trash Zombies Danced for A Day without a (disposable) Bag!

Thank our Plastic Bag Zombies for dancing, again!
The event, "A Day without a Bag" was very successful and lots of media covered the activities.
Kudos to Heal the Bay for organizing such a wonderful event, giving away more than 20,000 reusable shopping bags to Californians! We are so glad to be a part of it.

Remember, each year, about 6 billion plastic carryout bags are consumed in Los Angeles County. Because only less than 5 percent are recycled, approximately 45,000 tons of plastic bags are disposed countrywide.
Plastic carryout bags should be banned. Please bring your own reusable shopping bags to save our planet.

Just off the Palos Verdes coast line.....

On a beautiful morning, we were on a zodiac cruising along with White-sided Dolphins.
It was only a mile off from the Trump National Golf Course. They were curious and playful. A few seals joined the crowd. Dozens of birds followed us as well. We all enjoyed the riding on the swells.
This is the beauty I want forever.

LA River. Yes, it's our beautiful river.

The other day, I took pictures of trash floating on LA River. It is the place the river flows into Long Beach Harbor. Notice that there are many Styrofoam cups and containers along with daily life trash. They are definitely coming from the land. They were probably blown away by wind from trash cans or car windows, and washed down into the storm drains. Then, you know the rest. They will float in the ocean almost forever, breaking down to small pieces. No wonder the millions of marine animals get sick or die.
